Ciao, sono Enrica Tarantino-Woytal
Benvenuti to my website!
With over 40 years of experience as an Italian teacher in the Milwaukee area, I've had the pleasure of guiding thousands of students on their journey to learn Italian. Originally coming from the charming town of Porticello, near Palermo Sicily, Italy, I embarked on my adventure to the USA at the age of 18. It was here that I realized the profound significance of promoting Italian culture in the United States.
The Italian language, with its inherent beauty, became my passion, and I've dedicated my career to sharing its richness with others. In my classes, I don't just see students; I see members of my extended family! Joining my class isn't just about learning Italian; it's a shared experience filled with laughter, engaging stories, and perhaps even a sprinkle of Italian recipes!
Let’s celebrate the richness of the Italian language together! Impariamo a parlare l’italiano!

My History
I am an experienced educator for 40 years with a rich background in Italian language and culture. Born in the small town of Porticello, in Sicily, Italy; I brought the essence of my native language to the United States as a teenager. My educational journey began in Italy, and I completed my studies in the USA, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Italian and French from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Fluent in English, Italian, and Sicilian, I have dedicated my career to sharing the beauty of the Italian language with students of all ages. My teaching experience spans many institutions such as the Italian Community Center of Milwaukee, Alverno College, and Cardinal Stritch University. What started as teaching Italian to young children evolved into instructing adults, and I have had the privilege of guiding thousands of students, preparing them to embrace the language before their journeys to Italy.
Beyond the classroom, I served as the radio host of the "Italian Hour" program at WYMS Radio in Milwaukee—a staple for Italian-speaking residents in the community. My commitment to community engagement extends to numerous hours of non-profit work dedicated to the Italian Community of Wisconsin, a passion that earned me the esteemed 2009 Italian Teacher of the Year award from WisItalia.
As I look ahead, I am excited to continue my mission to inspire and educate individuals on the richness of the Italian language and culture. I look forward to contributing my power of the Italian language to you, so that you too can enjoy the beauty of Italian culture!
